Willie Howe is one of a series of prehistoric burial mounds of national importance which overlook the Gypsy race, a stream in theYorkshire Wolds. These mounds are made of earth or chalk rubble and cover a single or multiple burial. Sometimes they have a ditch – as Willie Howe has.It was excavated in Victorian times.
